LONE is an abstract solo circus piece that portrays the fine line between alone and lonely. It is a tribute to being alone, to the inventive self, to the self that is comfortable with being by itself. In a society where we are constantly connected, we have become afraid of being alone. We have associated being alone with lonely. Being alone is frowned upon. In my show I want to remember the self that can be alone and display the joy, beauty and tranquility that comes with it.

 

A discipline that contains a lot of force and power yet has the possibility to canalize that force into a state of weightlessness. With the combination of a teeterboard, Luuk himself and an innovative structure, Luuk expands the borders of what teeterboard is, and can be. Using his discipline to not only show the virtuosic figures that come with it but use it for expression and dialogue.
